Eugenie Bouchard – Anastasija Sevastova Match Prediction | 23-08-2019

Jack:Serena Williams is on a mission. Bouchard has demonstrated flashes of her 2014 level, but even that will not be enough to blunt the force of nature that is Williams. She looked sharp at the Hopman Cup and has continued to be an imposing force.

Muguruza has triumphed on the top stages, but has historically struggled on hard courts. Muguruza should cruise.Prediction: Muguruza in 2Embed from Getty Imageswindow.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||[]).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'J3M0dOExQTx98cV7aznhGQ',sig:'XAN4ct3TVbiXrRIu4bYqZLOH0q-EuSi3LTqmEwfFhow=',w:'594px',h:'396px',items:'1082947028',caption: true ,tld:'com',is360: false })});Ryan:An intriguing second round matchup of two talented players. Steen:This will be tough for Konta who barely won her opening round match.

Yesh:Kenin has been playing some of the best tennis of her career recently. Halep, meanwhile, looked lost and out of form in barely getting by Kaia Kanepi last round.

Yesh:This is a matchup of two players who were in the Top 10 very recently. This will come down to whoever holds their nerve best. Each has fallen on hard times, though the talent is still there. Ill take Konta to pull the upset at the end of the day.

Sevastova still led comfortably 5-3. However, the Canadian wasnt helping herself as she hit a double fault to gift the set to Sevastova 6-3. The Latvian was unstoppable and there was not much Bouchard could do when her opponent returned everything. Bouchardwould then face another break point, but this time, she was able to save it and win the game. That slip she had in her early service game didnt repeat as Sevastova held without complications.

Yesh:Venus had an off year in 2018, but theres nothing to suggest that she still cant compete.

Next for Sevastova

If both play at their top level a thrilling contest should result. Konta and Muguruza are both capable of breathtaking tennis and both are somewhat inconsistent. Unfortunately given their recent form this match could be the story of which player makes fewer mistakes. Jack:This match has the makings of a classic.

Bouchard, on the other side, had also improved and held to level 1-1. The unforced errors came back as Bouchard served and Sevastova only required one break point to get the lead when the Canadian double faulted. They exchange holds again and then Sevastovahad a very impressive service game and was up 3-2. The Latvian didnt lose her rhythm as she held her opening serve to love. The frustration was obvious in Bouchard who, after losing her serve, smashed the ball.

Sevastova didnt have any problem consolidating the break. The match started with a long game where Bouchard saved three break points, but Sevastova was determined to get an early break and so she did on the fourth break point when Bouchard hit a double fault. The Canadian then had a very good service game, managing to hold to love to get on the scoreboard and stay close behind her opponent.
